How harbotn Came to Be
harbotn was founded in Ipoh with a straightforward purpose: to make the rental process in Malaysia less overwhelming. Our founders had spent years watching professionals relocate to the country with limited guidance, spending weeks interpreting unfamiliar lease clauses or struggling to understand which neighbourhoods suited their way of living.
Rather than a high-volume agency model, we chose depth over scale. We take on a considered number of clients at any time, ensuring that each person receives the attention their situation deserves. Our knowledge of the Perak property landscape — and key areas across Malaysia — has been built through years of direct engagement with landlords, property agents, and the communities themselves.
We work quietly and with care. The clients who come to us are typically looking for a calm experience, not a transactional one — and that suits our approach perfectly.
Our Mission
What Guides Our Work
Honest Representation
We represent our clients' interests plainly and honestly, without overpromising outcomes or adding unnecessary complexity.
Calm Process
Moving is already demanding enough. We take on as much of the administrative weight as possible so you can focus on what matters more.
Local Depth
Our roots in Ipoh mean we understand places, not just properties. That context shapes every recommendation we make.
The People
Our Team
A small group of specialists who bring local knowledge, patience, and professional rigour to every client relationship.
Nurul Aina
Lead Relocation Consultant
With a decade of experience in Malaysian residential property, Nurul Aina oversees executive relocation assignments and maintains key relationships with landlords across Perak and Kuala Lumpur.
Razif Haron
Lease & Legal Review Specialist
Razif brings a background in tenancy law and contract review. He leads the lease negotiation service, ensuring clients understand what they're signing before they commit to anything.
Siti Tanweer
Neighbourhood Orientation Lead
A lifelong Ipoh resident, Siti leads the neighbourhood immersion service. Her deep familiarity with the city's communities, markets, and lifestyle venues makes her introductions genuinely personal.
Our Standards
How We Work
The principles and practices that shape our service delivery and client relationships.
Client Confidentiality
All client information — financial, personal, or circumstantial — is held in strict confidence and never shared beyond the immediate service relationship.
Written Clarity
We document every recommendation and outcome in writing. Clients receive clear summaries after each stage so there is no ambiguity about what has been agreed or advised.
Impartial Advice
We do not hold referral arrangements with landlords or property developers. Our recommendations reflect what suits the client, not what benefits our network.
Responsive Communication
We respond to enquiries within one business day during working hours. Clients are never left waiting without an acknowledgement.
Property Due Diligence
Before recommending any property or advising on a lease, we carry out background research on the landlord history, property condition reports, and any known tenancy concerns.
Cultural Sensitivity
We work with clients from many backgrounds. Our orientation and relocation services are adapted to individual cultural preferences and family structures.
Our Expertise
Property Rental Support Across Malaysia
harbotn specialises in the kind of attentive, personalised support that makes a real difference when navigating the rental market in Malaysia. Ipoh has seen growing interest from both local and international professionals seeking residential properties that meet higher standards of space, management, and location — and our team has followed that shift closely.
Our lease negotiation work draws on direct experience with Malaysian tenancy agreements, landlord-tenant customs, and the practical realities of the Perak housing market. We help clients understand the implications of maintenance clauses, deposit structures, and break terms — without rushing them toward a decision.
For corporate professionals and families arriving from abroad, the relocation experience extends well beyond finding a place to live. harbotn's orientation services are built around the belief that understanding a neighbourhood — its rhythms, its people, its facilities — is what transforms a house into a home.
